What are my options after Invisalign treatment?
It’s useful to distinguish between Invisalign treatment, Vivera retainers and the clear retainers we manufacture.
Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment system that uses a series of aligners to move teeth.
Vivera is a branded retainer product.
Retainer.shop clear retainers are independently manufactured custom clear retainers. They are not Invisalign or Vivera products and Retainer.shop is not affiliated with or endorsed by their manufacturer.
We don’t claim that our retainers use identical materials or have identical performance or durability to Vivera retainers.
Our clear retainers are made from 1mm Iconic Lux material and manufactured for the teeth represented by your suitable impression.
How much does a replacement clear retainer cost?

A new appliance order includes your home impression kit and retainer case.
UK postage is free. We also include a prepaid Second Class label for returning your impression and send the finished retainer free by Royal Mail Special Delivery.
How it works
Order your retainer
Choose an upper, lower or two-retainer option online. We’ll dispatch your impression kit the next working day.
Take your impression
Follow the supplied instructions and return your impression using the included prepaid label.
We check the impression before manufacture. If another attempt is required, one additional impression attempt is included free.
We manufacture your retainer
Once we receive a suitable impression, we digitise your teeth and manufacture your custom clear retainer in our UK laboratory.
Manufacture normally takes two working days after we receive a suitable impression.
Your finished retainer is delivered
We send the finished appliance free by Royal Mail Special Delivery.
What if my teeth have moved since Invisalign treatment?
A replacement retainer is not intended to restart orthodontic treatment or move substantially shifted teeth back into position.
If your previous retainer no longer fits, your teeth have noticeably moved, or attempting to wear your old retainer causes significant discomfort, don’t force it into place.
Speak to your dentist or orthodontist about the appropriate next step.
What if I’ve lost or broken my Invisalign retainer?
If you’ve lost or damaged your retainer, you can order a new independently manufactured clear retainer from us.
The new retainer will be made from the current position of your teeth represented by the impression you provide. It isn’t a copy of your previous Invisalign or Vivera retainer.
If your teeth appear to have moved significantly since you stopped wearing your previous retainer, seek advice from your dentist or orthodontist before ordering.

Do you need my old Invisalign retainer?
No. For a new Retainer.shop order, we send you a home impression kit. We manufacture your retainer from a suitable impression of the current position of your teeth.

How quickly is the impression kit sent?
Impression kits are dispatched the next working day.
How long does manufacture take?
